As of April 9th, 2025, new accounts created directly through Steam would have had an anonymous email attached and were only accessible through GeoGuessr Steam. If you would have liked to use a web account, you would need to reach out to customer support to delete the anonymous account and then have the option to link to a web account only if you had an annual yearly pass.
Our most recent Steam update, as of September 22nd, will impact all anonymous Steam account players.
Upon logging into Steam, If you have both a Steam anonymous (guest) account and a GeoGuessr website account, you will now get the option to choose one of your accounts to keep and use across both platforms.
NOTE: The account you select to use will now be the only account active. The unselected account will be automatically deleted.
