We have recently made some changes to the Elo rating system. To keep ratings representative of current skill levels, ratings gradually decrease when a player becomes inactive.
If you haven’t played a competitive Duel in the last 3 days, rating decay begins. The amount lost starts small and increases the longer you remain inactive.
Decay can continue for up to 30 days, after which it stops. Playing a competitive Duel resets the inactivity timer and stops any ongoing decay.
Rating decay affects both your overall rating and your ratings in individual game modes. Playing any competitive Duel is enough to prevent decay across all ratings. For example, playing a Moving Duel will also prevent your No Move rating from decaying. Ratings of 500 or below are not affected by rating decay.
In the table below you'll find all the details on when, and how much, rating is decayed for each day of inactivity.
Day | Decay per day |
0-2 3-8 9-16 17-23 24-30 | 0 1 3 5 7 |
